Shipping & Processing

How long until my order ships?

Our estimated processing time is 3-5 business days. It's usually quicker than that, but we can promise it will be no longer than 5 business days. If for some reason it's going to take longer we will communicate with you and send you some free jewelry or a discount code!

How long will shipping take?

Shipping should take around 3-5 business days depending on your location. We send our packages with USPS and can't control things once the package leaves our hands. We've never had any problems with them so far, and we rely on them to ship a lot of packages!

How do I know when my order has shipped?

You'll receive an email including your tracking number when your order leaves our studio.

Do you ship to PO Boxes, APO, or FPO addresses?

Yes! Enter your PO Box, APO or FPO address in the shipping line at checkout.

My order didn’t arrive on time. Now what?

We will always send your order out within the promised time frame (see above question). Once we ship it with USPS, it is no longer under our control and cannot promise certain delivery dates. Generally we are very happy with USPS and their quick delivery times. However, since we cannot travel with your package at USPS we cannot guarantee that it will arrive on a certain date. 

Around busy times of the year (holidays especially) USPS can get slightly backed up. Sometimes when this is the case, tracking numbers are not scanned at every location. Please give it a few days to update.

Occasionally, packages will say delivered before they have actually been delivered. Please be patient and give it a few days to show up, and then contact your local post office to try to locate it. 


Returns & Exchanges

Can I return my item(s)?

We are happy to offer store credit for the return of jewelry within 30 days of purchasing. 

To initial a return, please email shopposyandplum@gmail.com with your name and order # and we can get the process started. 

If there is a problem with your order that is our fault, or if the item is broken or damaged, then we're happy to work with you and make sure you're satisfied with your order/item.

Can I exchange my item(s)?

We are happy to exchange jewelry within 30 days of purchasing. 

To initiate an exchange, please email us at shopposyandplum@gmail.com with your name, order # and the name of the item(s) you want to exchange. Once we process your request, we will issue you store credit and you can repurchase the item you want. 

Does my order come with a warranty?

If your jewelry breaks, tarnishes, or has any defects within 60 days of purchasing, please send us an email at shopposyandplum@gmail.com and we will work with you to resolve the issue and make sure you are taken care of. 

My necklace/bracelet/anklet isn’t quite long enough. Can I add more length?

You can purchase an extender on our website. Click HERE to purchase!

My necklace/bracelet/anklet is too long. Can I make it shorter?

Usually yes! Some of our chains (Dottie to be specific) you can simply just clasp it tighter on one of the jump rings between the little discs.

If it is a chain that you can't clasp shorter, please feel free to send us an email at shopposyandplum@gmail.com and we can discuss your options and you can send it back to us and we will shorten it.

 

Order Questions

Can I change my shipping address?

Reach out to us as soon as possible if you need to change your shipping address. We will do our best to get the address changed before purchasing a shipping label. However, if the order has already been shipped, we cannot change the address. 

This order is a gift for a friend. Can you include a note?

Yes, absolutely! Just make sure to include in the order notes what you would like it to say and we will be happy to include it. 

Can I cancel my order?

We typically start processing your order shortly after we receive it, so if we have already purchased your shipping label, we cannot cancel your order. If your order has not been processed yet, we will do our best to work with you on canceling the order.

Can I change my order?

We typically start processing your order shortly after we receive it, so we cannot change your order after it has been placed. 

 

Jewelry Care & Materials

What kind of metal is the gold jewelry?

We will specify what kind of metal each piece of jewelry is in the description on each product page. The majority of our gold pieces are gold filled (waterproof, tarnish resistant, hypoallergenic), but if it is not gold filled, we will put it in the description that it is either gold plated or gold vermeil. 

What is gold filled jewelry?

Gold filled is very high quality for jewelry. It is the next best thing after solid gold. It is water resistant, tarnish resistant, chip resistant, and hypoallergenic.

Contrary to what the name implies, gold filled jewelry is a layer of gold heat and pressure bonded to a base metal. The layer of gold has to be 5% or more of the total weight of the piece (while gold plated pieces usually have less than 1% and are only dipped to have a microscopic layer of gold). During this process it fuses the base metal and the gold fill layer together to make it insanely durable. This layer of gold is what keeps your jewelry in such good condition. This is what makes it tarnish resistant and chip resistant.

Gold Jewelry Care Instructions

We encourage you to live your life while wearing your gold filled jewelry! But, if you want your jewelry to be as long lasting as it should be, you do need to take proper care of it. 

Gold filled jewelry is water resistant, however, it is not necessarily chemical resistant. You may want to take it off while swimming, exercising, etc., to help the jewelry last longer. Certain chemicals can potentially shorten the life of your gold filled jewelry. 

You can definitely sleep in your gold filled jewelry! I wear my gold filled jewelry for months on end! Our huggies and other earrings are very comfortable to sleep in and I can wear them for months! With that being said, my skin doesn't react to metals, and I live in a very dry location. Some body compositions can react with metals. If you happen to be among the unlucky people whose skin reacts with gold filled metal (turning your skin green, tarnishing jewelry quicker, etc.), you will want to remove your jewelry at night. 

How do I clean my gold filled jewelry?

Use some warm water and mild dish soap to clean your jewelry. After laying it on a towel to dry (pat, don't rub) you can use a lint-free, soft polishing cloth (click HERE to get one). Use this and gently rub your jewelry to finish cleaning. 

What are clay earrings made of?

They are made with polymer clay! This is such a fun material because you can make just about anything you want with it. You roll it out like cookie dough, cut your shapes, bake them (in the oven! weird right?), sand them, drill holes, assemble them, package them, and send them on their way!

What kind of metal are the posts on the clay earrings?

We will specify the material in the description of each product page. Most of our clay earrings have titanium posts (hypoallergenic, very good for sensitive ears). If they have a gold post (ball post, etc) it is stainless steel (hypoallergenic, lead and nickel free). 

Clay Earrings Care Instructions

- Remove jewelry before sleeping, swimming, showering, exercising, etc.

- Put jewelry on after applying makeup, perfume, etc.

- Avoid contact with harsh chemicals

- Wipe with a soft cloth to clean

- To clean makeup off earrings, use a damp cloth and soap if needed

- Store in a cool, dry place
